The Economy of Ghana Network of the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER), University of Ghana under the Social Development thematic area, gladly invites you to a workshop on “The Dynamics of Volunteering and Voluntary Work in Ghana: Can It Be Sustained?”.

Volunteer work is deeply embedded in most cultures that it has become hard to identify and quantify. The workshop seeks to highlight the scope, types and challenges of some volunteer work– state and non-state institutions in Ghana. What are the main challenges facing volunteering work in Ghana; what lessons can be learnt from international volunteer organisations; how can we sustain it to promote social development?

The Economy of Ghana Network (EGN) is a Country Level Knowledge Network (CLK-NET) with some characteristics of a civil society organization. It embraces all persons with adequate training and interest in discussing issues relevant to the proper management of the economy of Ghana and the country’s socio- economic development. The network provides a platform for disseminating research findings and discussing their policy relevance. The Network is funded by African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF).
