The Economy of Ghana Network of the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER), University of Ghana, Legon, under the macroeconomics thematic area, kindly invites you to a workshop on“Public Debt and Sustainability: Whither Ghana?”.
The Ghanaian economy has performed remarkably well since the reforms of the 1980s. Unfortunately, the present huge debt accumulation, as part of the worsening fiscal situation of the country, threatens to torpedo this economic achievement.  What is the nature of the historical evolution of Ghana’s debt? What are the implications for sustained growth and development? And, how sustainable is the debt?
This EGN forum seeks to bring stakeholders and policy makers together to create awareness and discuss the country’s debt sustainability. If Ghana is to sustain its path toward economic prosperity, such a forum is crucial.
The workshop is scheduled as follows:
Date: Tuesday, 17th November, 2015

Time: 9:00am

Venue: ISSER Conference Centre (ISSER Annex)

Presenter: Prof. N. K. Kusi, Executive Director, Institute of Fiscal Studies (IFS)
