Prof. Augustin FOSU is currently Professor (economics), ISSER, at the University of Ghana. He is also honorary Research Associate at the CSAE, University of Oxford. He is the erstwhile Deputy Director of the UN University World Institute for Development Economics Research (UNU-WIDER), Helsinki, Finland. Other previous positions include: Director of the Economic and Social Policy Division and Senior Policy Advisor/Chief Economist, at the UN Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), and Director of Research of the AERC.
He holds a PhD in economics from Northwestern University, USA. He has published extensively, with certain rankings listing him among ‘top economists’ globally, e.g., http://ideas.repec.org/coupe.html. He is co-editor of the Journal of African Economies (Oxford) and additionally serves on the editorial boards of many other journals, including: the Journal of Development Studies, Oxford Development Studies, World Bank Economic Review, and World Development.
